ELECTRO MUSCLE STIMULATOR is a microprocessor-controlled device for electro muscle stimulation. It is used for professional purposes in medical facilities (physical medicine and rehabilitation), fitness centres, and in other applications.

ELECTRO MUSCLE STIMULATION
Electro muscle stimulators operate on the principle of low-frequency currents, with the option of adjusting the frequency, contraction, relaxation and overall therapy time.
In wider use are Stimulators with 4, 8 and 12 channels, or 8, 16 and 24 electrodes (each channel has 2 electrodes).
ELECTRO MUSCLE STIMULATOR proved successful in use with many pathological conditions and is widely utilised in medicine and cosmetology.

DESCRIPTION OF THE DEVICE
The HX-K7 consists of
- Electro muscle stimulation device (hereinafter: the device)
- Electrodes and accessories (hereinafter: electrodes)
The back of the device contains:
- Power supply switch ON/OFF
- City grid power supply cable
The front side of the device features:
- Soft-touch pushbutton for the start/stop of operation – START/STOP
- Red LED indicating the activity of the device – POWER ON
- Potentiometer for the adjustment of period of treatment – TIME
- Potentiometer for the adjustment of frequency – FREQUENCY
- Potentiometer for the adjustment of contraction – CONTRACTION
- Potentiometer for the adjustment of relaxation – RELAXATION
- Potentiometer for the adjustment of intensity – INTENSITY
- Electrode sockets

Attach the grid power cable into the 220V socket, and the electrode cables into the appropriate sockets on the front side of the device (looking from the left-hand side, the first socket is for channels ch1 & ch2, ... with the sixth socket for channels ch11 & ch12).
Important note : Set the p otentiometers for INTENSITY, FREQUENCY, CONTRACTION, RELAXATION and TIME to minimal values, i.e. to the far-left position.
By pressing the ON/OFF switch on the back, turn on the device.
Slip the electrodes into the macerated sponge sleeves and place them on the treated areas of the body, fasten them with the belt, and then connect them to the cables. Keep in mind that electrodes and sleeves must not be in contact ones with the others. Each channel possesses 2 electrodes.
With potentiometers for FREQUENCY , CONTRACTION, RELAXATION and TIME set the desired values for frequency, contraction, rest and the duration of stimulation (See User’s manual).
Pressing the soft-touch pushbutton – START – commences the electro muscle stimulation, which is indicated by the red LED – POWER ON, which is lit continuously.
By potentiometers INTESITY set the intensities of the channels so that they cause a rhythmic movement of the muscles (the recommendation when setting the values for contraction and rest is that they be as low as possible). In an event that stronger stimulation is required, increase the intensity by rotating the potentiometer INTENSITY in millimetre increments.
After the set time of stimulation has elapsed, the aural signal is heard after which the device turns off automatically, i.e. the red LED POWER ONgoes off. Press the ON/OFF switch at the back of the device to turn it off. Repeat the previously described procedure in the next therapy session.
Stimulation may be terminated at any time by pressing the ON/OFF switch at the back of the device.

Manual Mode

Programmed Mode
By potentiometer PROGRAM choose the desired programmed mode of operation (positions 1 to 5). In the Programmed mode, the values for frequency, contraction, and relaxation of electrical signals are defined by the program (see Program modes). The potentiometer TIME sets the desired time of stimulation.

FREQUENCY
Frequency of electrical signals is indicated in Hz, and is set by potentiometer – FREQUENCY. ELECTRO MUSCLE STIMULATOR devices are capable of adjusting the frequency in the range of 10 to 150 Hz.
CONTRACTION/ REST
Contraction/relaxation is a ratio between the duration of impulse and rest phases of electrical signals, and is set by potentiometers CONTRACTION, or RELAXATION, respectively. ELECTRO MUSCLE STIMULATOR devices are capable of adjusting contraction and rest in the range of 0.5 to 9.
INTENSITY
Intensity indicatesthe strength of the electrical signals, and is set by potentiometers INTENSITY. ELECTRO MUSCLE STIMULATOR devices are capable of adjusting intensity in the range of 0-10.
PROGRAMMED MODES
Unlike models HX-K7, HX-K9 and HX-K11, model HX-K7p, apart from manual mode of operation, has a programmed mode of operation (the values for frequency, contraction and relaxation are defined by the program). Application of program modes is as follows:
- Program 1: lymphatic drainage
- Program 2: lipolysis
- Program 3: fibrous cellulite
- Program 4: oedema cellulite
- Program 5: surface cellulite
TIME OF STIMULATION
Devices HX-K7, HX-K7p and HX-K9 are capable of setting the duration of stimulation in the range between 10 and 60 minutes, while the model HX-K11 has a fixed time of stimulation (fail-safe), which is 30 min .

- Malign tumours and pre-cancerous conditions, pacemaker, diagnosed heart disease, without actual risk assessment, undiagnosed pain syndromes, without definite cause of disease, rachitic changes, haemorrhages and proneness to haemorrhage, increased blood pressure.
ELECTRO MUSCLE STIMULATOR devices must not be used in the area of:
- Heart
- Eyes
- Genitals
- Pregnant uterus
- Open wounds
- Implants
CAVEATS
- Use the device only for purposes stated in the Manual
- After use, unplug the device from power supply grid
- During cleaning, unplug the device from power supply grid
- Do not place the device on metal surfaces and electrical appliances
- Do not let the device come in contact with water and other liquids
- Do not let the device unattended during operation
- Do not let the device unattended in the vicinity of children
- Do not use the device if any of the parts are damaged
- Do not store the device in direct sunlight, high temperature, or in damp areas
- Do not modify or change device components without authorisation
MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS
- Clean the device only with dry cloth, without use of cleaning agents
- After each use, swipe the electrodes with cloth

USER’S MANUAL
- Frequency : Depth of penetration of an electrical signal is reversely proportional to their frequency. Electrical signals of lower frequency have a deeper penetration, and vice-versa.
- Contraction : Time of muscle contraction is directly proportional to contraction. Lower value of contraction results in shorter time of contraction of muscles, and vice-versa
- Relaxation : represents the so-called muscle rest time and is set individually
- Intensity : adjusted by preference/choice
- The recommended time between stimulations is 24 hours
- The total number of simulations depends on indication, usually around 10
- Recommendation is for a therapy in combination with ultrasonic waves
- Important note: In an event of lapse of stimulation, set the channel intensity to minimum value (far-left position), and check the electrodes (fasten them with the belt) and cables (their contact with the electrode).
CONTROL STICKER
The bottom of the device is affixed with a HAROX TECHNOLOGIES, INC. control sticker with a serial number, as it is shown in figure 5.
